and welcome to my website. It is of special interest to anyone who was
brought up in Sheffield and particularly anyone who went to Hartley
Brook School or Firth Park Grammar School in the 60's and 70's.
I have some great memories of my schooldays and indeed of my 16 years at British Telecom where I started as an apprentice in 1972 and ended up repairing phones in all the pubs in the South Yorkshire area. (Why did I resign?). If you click on the links on the left you will find great sites dedicated to Sheffield nostalgia. Of particular interest to me is the Firth Park Grammar School site which has been lovingly put together by Steve Jones and the City Snappers site which contains some very nostalgic photographs of 1970's telephone engineers and their working environment which were taken by an old colleague of mine Dave Milner. After leaving BT I started my second career as a professional musician. I was in various bands from 1972-1997 including Magdelaine, The Whiteman Brothers, Berlin and finally Chalky.
